Stein Valley Nlakapamux School Adult Education Program
The adult education program at Stein Valley Nlakapamux School has been dormant for a year and is currently in the early stages of restructuring. The program's goal is to build capacity in the community and support revitalization efforts. As outlined in the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, one of the main objectives is to provide educational opportunities for adults, which leads to self-sufficiency. The program supports individuals 18 years of age and older.
Vicky Raphael-Adult Education Coordinator, a Lytton First Nation member, has recently returned to her community after 36 years. She has a diverse educational background, including qualifications in Business Administration (Marketing), Educational Assistant Training, and advanced degrees in Education and Educational Administration, focusing on Indigenous Education. Vicky’s experience spans principalship, in-class teaching, workshop facilitation, and retail and convenience store management roles. She is eager to develop programs for adult learners to foster economic growth and community capacity. She can be reached at [email protected] or the portable building beside the Stein Valley gas station. She is available to have discussions with community members, business owners, and organizational leaders to coordinate programs in the community with outside organizations and institutions.
